Focusing on your own ethic, religious, familial, or economic background, can you identify a particular death-related encounter, attitude, or practice that you have had to explain to someone who does not share your background? What was it about the death-related encounter, attitude, or practice that seemed unusual to the person who did not share your background? How did you explain the origins of the encounter, attitude, or practice?
