Criteria for Written Report
SUMMARY
Provide a clear discussion of 3 to 4 major themes or ideas from the book, and explain why the ideas are important. Summary should be thoughtful and accurate.
HOW BOOK WILL AFFECT YOU
The students will provide a minimum of two specific examples of how the material will affect them either now or in their future (or both). The examples should be clear, relevant and thoughtful.
QUOTATIONS
All quotations from the book are noted by citing page number in parentheses without the authors last name for example (48). Direct quotations are used appropriately throughout to support the students position.
ORGANIZATION, MECHANICS & FORMAT
There is a clear introduction, body and conclusion. The paper flows well and there are few, if any, spelling or grammatical errors.
All applicants go through a series of tests that check their level of English and knowledge of formatting styles. The applicant is also required to present a sample of writing to the Evaluation Department. If you wish to find out more about the procedure, check out the whole process.
