M3A3: Special Needs

Complete four of the tasks below.
Write a response to each task including problems, needs, shortcuts, and feelings.
Relate the task to the management of a home.
Identify one revision you would or could make in your home to simplify or allow you to accomplish each task.

Tasks (Complete any 4 of the following):

Task 1: Wheelchair: Sit in a wheelchair. Go to another room in the house. Pick up a book and bring it back to the room where you started.
Task 2: Crutches (You only have the use of one leg – you decide!): Get out of bed. Walk to the bathroom. Wash your hands. Get in the tub and/or shower. Get out. Go to the kitchen. Get something out of the refrigerator. Place it on the table.
Task 3: Blind: Cover your eyes completely. Turn on the over to 350 degrees. Removed something from the refrigerator and place it on the kitchen counter. Turn off the lights. Take off you blindfold.
Task 4: Loss of one Arm: (Using one arm – you decide:) Open a can with a can opener. Set one place setting on the table. Use plate, bowl, salad plate, cup and saucer, water glass, napkin, knife, fork, and spoon. Get a gallon of milk or something equivalent out of the refrigerator or cupboard and place it on the table.
Task 5: Deaf (use ear plugs): Make a phone call. Set a time for ten minutes. Turn on the television.
Task 6: Limited movement hands: Clasp your hands. Open an interior door. Open an exterior door. Get a cookbook. Open it to page 20.
Task 7: Walker: Get out of bed. Walk to the bathroom. Wash your hands. Get in the tub and/or shower. Get out. Go to the kitchen. Get something out of the refrigerator. Place it on the table.
