Evaluate the social, cultural and political context of an important and influential album release (or a collection of songs) in the period 1900 to 1975.
Choose an artist from this period and examine their relationship to the cultural and social framework of their era with reference to an important or influential album. (If the artist did not release any albums you may choose a collection of representative songs.)
Analyse and evaluate your chosen artist in relation to their impact on music and popular culture and their relationship to the themes of this module (class, race, gender, world events, technology, religion, etc.) as they are relevant.
All applicants go through a series of tests that check their level of English and knowledge of formatting styles. The applicant is also required to present a sample of writing to the Evaluation Department. If you wish to find out more about the procedure, check out the whole process.
