You will write a critical research paper based that focuses on some aspect of digital media and culture as discussed in the course. Topics may include, but are not limited to, software as culture, digital copying, electronic databases, file sharing, social networks, personal media, hacktivism, digital art, video games as culture and art and virtual worlds. In general, you can address how digital media is currently shaping, variously, our identities, our social and political relations, our cultural beliefs and values and how we perceive and understand the world. Important: The four topics that are not allowed are Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram. All four have been written on far too often so I thought we would take a break from those subjects.
All applicants go through a series of tests that check their level of English and knowledge of formatting styles. The applicant is also required to present a sample of writing to the Evaluation Department. If you wish to find out more about the procedure, check out the whole process.
