Occupational Stress Paper

The occupational stress paper is an opportunity to investigate potential stressors likely to be encountered in your chosen careers. For this paper, you are asked to synthesize current research related to the factors of occupational stress. The paper should include a description of the various stressors and the consequences of unmanaged occupational stress and a discussion of potential coping strategies to reduce occupational stress.

A minimum of four peer-reviewed journal articles that either relate directly to your profession or discuss occupational stress factors must be used to develop the paper. The Occupational Stress Paper is worth 20% of the grade for this course.

Requirements
The final paper should skilfully integrate the information from the journal articles.
Criteria for evaluation will include: 1) content and organization, 2) integration of relevant class concepts and primary sources, 3) writing clarity,  appropriate in-text citations and reference page, and 4) originality and creativity.

2-3 typed, double spaced pages – minimum of 2 complete pages and a maximum of 7 pages
12 point font Arial or similar font that is easy to read.
Be written in narrative, paragraph format.
Use appropriate 1-inch margins.

The paper should be left-justified (do not right justify/align, which centers text).
Scholarly papers are written from the 3rd person perspective.  Do not use I we (first-person perspective) or you (second-person perspective).
At least four different primary sources (Academic journals or Academic-oriented books).
Use past tense when describing the research information;

Quotations from primary sources should be kept to a minimum. Less than 3 sentences of direct quotes.
Only use direct quotes when the information is extremely profound. If a direct quote is deemed necessary, include the page # in the citation. The paper must be an original work created for this class. No essays from previous classes will be accepted.
Any instances of plagiarism will be adjudicated to the fullest extent.
Late papers will be penalized one grade step each day (i.e., B drops to B-).
Peer-reviewed journal articles, or scholarly articles, have undergone a review process before publication. In other words, the manuscripts are reviewed by experts and typically revised before publication. The peer-review process helps to ensure that high-quality articles are published. For this assignment, you may wish to begin searching for journal articles using OneSearch or Academic Search Premier and check the box to limit your search to peer-reviewed articles.
