Any topic (writer’s choice)

You are to compose a written case study that comprehensively evaluates the crisis communication of a specific organization through the entirety of its pre-crisis, crisis, and post-crisis stages. To accomplish this analysis, you will need to select an organizational crisis that was broadly covered in traditional news and social media. Carefully following the task arrangement provided below, you are to compose a paper at least seven full pages in length (not including title page and reference list).

Your paper should follow the standard format for an academic paper, that follows the formatting guidelines in the current APA manual of style. Properly cite all sources that you draw from, including news articles, textbook readings, and any additional sources you use.

Your paper should be written in an essay style (not in bulleted, outline form), with fully developed paragraphs of complete and coherent sentences. It will be assessed based on the clarity, organization, thoroughness, and overall quality of your writing. Details such as grammar, punctuation, and spelling will affect your final grade. Before the assignment deadline indicated in the Course Schedule, submit your completed paper through the Turnitin link found in Module 7 (that generates an originality report). The criteria in the Module 0 Paper Grading Rubric will be used to evaluate your paper.

Content Requirements
Use the task arrangement below to organize your paper, and employ headings and sub-headings to clarify its structure. Although your sub-headings may vary, the paper must address each of the following six major sections:

Introduction. Describe the topic and purpose of the paper, and then preview each of the major sections contained in the paper.
Description of the Affected Organization. Provide details about locations(s), operations, stakeholders, and any other relevant characteristics. Include pertinent historical background.  When and where has this happened before?
Description of the Event and the Damage. Include any human deaths (number) and injuries (number and severity), environmental damage, physical damage (such as structures, fines, or other governmental sanctions), and reputational damage.
Summary of Media Coverage. Using examples, paint a picture of how the event and organization were covered in both traditional and social media. Was the coverage favorable or unfavorable? Are past crises or past good works mentioned? Include messages, actions, or reactions from stakeholders.
Assessment of Organizational Crisis Management. This section should be the payoff of your paper, drawing heavily from (and citing) course learning material. Evaluate each stage and sub-stage of the organizations crisis management. How well did the organization prevent, prepare, and plan? How well did it assess and communicate risk to stakeholders? How did the organization respond or react to the crisis?  How did it fail to respond? In what ways was the response effective, ineffective, or even further damaging? What could the organization have done better?  What were or are the short-term and long-term consequences? What is the status of the organizations recovery and revision? Are there indications of resulting resilience and renewal? What are the significant lessons to be learned from each crisis management stage?
Conclusion. Review the main sections of the paper, and summarize what your analysis revealed.
