C-SPAN Archives Project

For this project, you will explain a theory or concept covered in class and then find video content from the C-SPAN Archives to illustrate that theory or concept. You are required to write a short paper (at least 300 words) describing a theory or concept covered in class, arguing the importance of that theory/concept, and explaining how you will use video clips from the C-SPAN Archives to exemplify your chosen theory/concept. You are also required to include at least one example from the C-SPAN Archives by providing a link to the video clip(s) as well as an explanation of how the clip(s) fit the within theory/concept you have selected.

To find video clips to illustrate your chosen theory/concept, youll use the C-SPAN Archives. The Center for C-SPAN Scholarship and Engagement hosts the entire archive of content from C-SPAN, including a searchable online database (https://www.c-span.org/). This C-SPAN Archive contains more than 258,000 hours of content spanning from 1987 to present day. This content includes everything aired on C-SPAN, C-SPAN2, and C-SPAN3, which spans from floor proceedings for the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate to public affairs meetings and press briefings to congressional hearings and history-based programming.
