    At the core of the essay should be an answer to the question of what it was like to have been an American woman in 1922. Your essay should link the chosen topics into a coherent, thoughtful, and well-written essay.  Cite relevant passages from the texts parenthetically, and cite any other sources with properly constructed footnotes.
