That’s the first step. Find a topic that is interesting to both you and your audience. After you get the idea, you look for other information (sources) that deals with the issue. The annotated bibliography is like a regular reference page, but between every reference listed is a brief description of the reference.

So the first thing to do is pick a topic. Then you look for references. If you can’t find any, pick a new topic and start over. As soon as you have a topic and/or have some references, let me see them, and we’ll go from there.

REMINDER:  For the Persuasive Essay assignment you are picking yet another hot, debatable topic to showcase both sides of a debate. This time you will be choosing a side and arguing FOR or AGAINST something. Please let me know when you have a potential topic in mind and I will approve like last time. Pick a topic that you feel you can make both an EMOTIONAL and LOGICAL connection with. Pick something you have a personal connection to. You want to write about your topic with passion and intelligence. Your SOURCES will be your guide to navigating this essay so pick strong sources.
