Identify a problem or issue related to crime and explain why you feel this issue or problem should be researched further. To help identify an issue or problem, consider your personal experiences, community issues, or national issues that relate to crime.
Create a potential research question, and if appropriate, develop a hypothesis.
Using the assigned reading material or other academic resources, identify why it was or was not appropriate to develop a hypothesis.
Using the assigned reading material or other academic resources, define qualitative and quantitative research.
Explain whether you would use qualitative or quantitative research methods to answer your potential research question. Include an explanation of why you feel one method is more appropriate than the other for the purposes of answering the potential research question.
Your response should be approximately two to three pages in length (not including the cover sheet and references page). To be more specific, I am going to require that each student submit a 1,100 1,200 word paper.  The body (minimum word count) of the paper does not include the title page or references
