An Op/Ed piece is an opinion piece written by a reader.  Both of these types of articles allow people to express their opinion about important topics and issues.  You will be writing an Op/Ed Piece in which you select a topic that interests you, one that you are passionate about or feel strongly about in some way.  You must research your topic and provide evidence within your article.

You will write a 500 word Op/Ed piece in which you:
Present the problem
State your position
Provide three reasons and evidence to support those reasons for your position
Identify and discuss the opposing viewpoints/counterargument
Include a rebuttal
Present a logical solution.
