Essay portion: Prompt Abraham Lincoln was perhaps our greatest president: in a 3- to 5-
paragraph MLA-Style essay (including a one-paragraph introduction with a good
opener/grabber, a transition sentence, and a good thesis statement to drive the main body of the
essay and a final conclusion paragraph that summarizes the main body, repeats the thesis
statement to show that it has been proven in the main body, and an ending statement of some
kind [that is neither a truism nor trite]); in your main body, use evidence from Lincolns Second
Inaugural Address (quoted evidence is best evidence and of course, cite quotes correctly and
say what it means and why it matters) in your main body to support your thesis.
