Read Hard-fought Legacy: Obama, Congressional Democrats, and the Struggle for Comprehensive Health Care Reform

Using the historical context you gained in Week 1 and the retelling of enacting the ACA provided by Skocpol and Jacobs, analyze the passage of the ACA with the failure of other health care reform efforts.  In your analysis, address the following questions:

How was the Obama Administrations strategy different?
What lessons were learned from previous attempts at health care reform?
Identify the compromises made to gain support for passage of the ACA.
The excerpt discusses the dynamics of public opinion of the ACA.  How does gaining this context enhance or alter your personal view of the Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama and the current efforts to repeal/replace the ACA?
