For this essay, you will select a cultural text of intermediate length (short story, music video, song, television episode, extended movie sequence, an advertising series (more than one episode, each episode builds on the previous semiotic structures). The point is not merely to articulate what it means; instead, you will also reveal the way symbols are used to create the meaning by utilizing the semiotic method to support your analysis. Remember that the purpose of using the semiotic method is not to analyze the entire text.
