A half-wavelength dipole is parallel to and a distance h above an infinite perfectly conducting ground plane as shown in Figure 1. You are to investigate the effect of the standoff height h on radiation characteristics of this antenna. Please describe the steps required in the following.
a) (10 points) Determine the expression for the array factor. Then generate a rectangular plot of
the array factor in the z direction as a function of h over 0 h . Determine the minimum
standoff height that provides a radiation maximum in the z direction.
b) (10 points) Apply pattern multiplication to generate E-plane and H-plane patterns with the
standoff height found in part (a).
