Write a position paper to be submitted to organizations that govern able-bodied athletic competitions (e.g., International Olympic Committee). Your essay should address how to handle athletes with a prosthesis (e.g., Oscar Pistorius). Your essay should define criteria that, when followed, allows athletes with a prosthesis to compete with able-bodied athletes. You should include a justification for your recommendations. Provide enough detail for these organizations to implement the spirit of your ideas. You might include the effectiveness/power/speed of the prosthesis, the prosthesis role in the event, who might be asked to evaluate the prosthesis, tenets to be followed, etc. In other words, your essay should answer the question: When should athletes with a prosthesis be allowed to compete with able-body athletes?
