Paper #2 on Point of View – DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT –
Choose either A or B below (the assignments are the same, the novel combinations are different):

A. Write a 5-7 page paper comparing and contrasting the protagonist’s point of view in The Game of Silence and  Little House on the Prairie.
identify the protagonist in each novel and
describe the point of view of each.
Then:
compare and contrast the points of view of the two characters, considering the culture, era, and challenges faced by each, and
discuss (or make a comparison of) the two characters’ points of view and the dominant cultural male gaze norm.

B.  Write a 5-7 page paper comparing and contrasting the protagonist’s point of view in To Kill a Mockingbird and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
identify the protagonist in each novel and
describe the point of view of each.
Then:
compare and contrast the points of view of the two characters, considering the culture, era, and challenges faced by each, (you may also want to consider the symbolism used by the two authors as well as the authors’ own background as part of your discussion) and
discuss (or make a comparison of) the two characters’ points of view and the dominant cultural male gaze norm.

**NOTE that your similarity rate must be at or below 15%.  Papers with higher than 15% similarity will be given a zero grade.

MAKE SURE the paper is in APA or MLA format, double spaced, 1/2-inch tabs, title that reflects the thesis (NOT: “Paper #2”), with appropriately-formatted References or Works Cited page. PAPERS WITH MORE THAN 15% SIMILARITY WILL NOT BE GRADED. Revise and resubmit up to the due date. Check your paper’s similarity rate and the ETS proofreading suggestions, revise, and resubmit.
