For this , choose a topic from one of the following chapter 7. Then write a research paper in which you explain the issue, identify at least three ways to address the issue, and conclude by discussing which of the proposed solutions you believe would best help to resolve or reduce the problem you identified.
For example, suppose that you choose to write about inequality in educational attainment. In chapter 7, there is information regarding research in this area and, also some analysis regarding why the problem exists.
You might write a paper identifying the factors that contribute to the inequality in education, identify at least three ways to address the issue (might want to do some research on programs that try to do this), then conclude by discussing which of the proposed solution(s) you think would work best to address the issue.
This paper must be at least 4-5 pages long (cover page, if used, does not count toward page minimum). If you cite sources make sure to include a References Cited page this too does not count toward the page minimum. You almost certainly will need to do some research and so you will need to cite those sources.
You may use either MLA or APA format. Please use 12-point font, one-inch margins and double-spacing.
All applicants go through a series of tests that check their level of English and knowledge of formatting styles. The applicant is also required to present a sample of writing to the Evaluation Department. If you wish to find out more about the procedure, check out the whole process.
