Group report on the above case will be due on April 19, 2022.

Reading Help:

Module F (Quality Management) and Module H (Just in Time Systems and Lean Manufacturing) materials together with total quality control related items in the text book and the reading packet along with others distributed, if any, in class should provide the required background reading for the case.

Report Format:

The report should be 8 to 10 pages double spaced and typed. Your role is that of a consultant to the organization. The report should reflect organization of thought and be to the point. Do not regurgitate the facts in case. Emphasize integration of what you have learned in books, articles etc. in the report without being bookish. Please note that the presentation style of your report is important for grades. So, use headings and subheadings appropriately. Grammar and spelling checks should be made.

Points to be covered:

The main paper (8-10 pages) should have the following sections:

– Introduction: Short description of what a reader can expect to find in the report with a very brief SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis – based on as much information is available in the case (SW) and on your understanding of the situation in general (OT) – could be a nice way to define the current situation in your case.

– Answers to each question in the case identified to the question clearly. Each answer should have: an informal introduction; main area of answer with bullets/sentences; an informal conclusion.

– Conclusion summarizing the contents of the report.

Besides above you should also have a cover page carrying group members’ names, section no., an index page and bibliography at the end if you used any material from anywhere other than the textbook.

Case report evaluation criteria:

The report will be evaluated based on three criteria – organization of the report; problem analysis/definition (or answer to related questions); solution discussion and suggestion (or answer to related questions).
