You may use the course textbook, notes, and an outline to help you compose your essay.
Ideally, you should spend about two hours writing the essay. While there is no required length, to be able to fully answer your chosen prompt, it will likely turn out to be an essay of 3-5 pages. Since we wont meet as a class on 10/20 or 10/22, you should spend that time on 10/20 planning your essay, re-reading your chosen text and 10/22 writing your essay.
Key Tips:
Remember to focus on the analysis of one selected text from class so far.
Once you choose your prompt, be sure to read it carefully to make sure you respond to it fully.
You can refer to the outline structure and grading rubric handout as you compose your essay. Dont
neglect important essay elements like the initial thesis, scholarly source integration, citation of the page numbers when you quote or paraphrase, and a conclusion that answers so what?. A Works Cited page is not required, but in-text citations are.
Save time to proofread and edit before you turn in the essay. Read your essay out loud. Use tools like grammarly.com, etc.
