Discussion Five – Statues

A major controversy continues over whether to remove Confederate statues from the parks and streets of America. There are valid arguments on both sides (otherwise it wouldn’t be a controversy). In your best argument and persuasion voice, choose a side and write 100-250 words convincing us of the rightness of your position on this important issue. REMEMBER, IF YOU REALLY WANT TO CONVINCE US, YOU MUST AVOID EMOTIONAL OR ETHICAL ARGUMENTS AND USE LOGOS! Explain why the facts make better sense for your side. Be sure to respect all sides of this argument.

One last thought: Using a logical argument does not mean a dry post; be passionate and forceful in convincing and persuading all of us about the logic of your position. Just make sure your facts are correct; you can make up your own belief system but you can’t make up your own facts.
