Like many non-profit organizations, Medicines for the People received much of its funding via grants, as it does in the case study. As such, the grant-providing entity is a stakeholder in the initiatives the organization is to put in place. The local populations are also stakeholders as the successful implementation of the program is perceived to create a positive change for the community. How would creating partners out of the stakeholders assist in the facilitation of the project? Can you think of a past or present situation where you had the opportunity to empower your stakeholders, which would have contributed to the success of your initiative? What steps were or could have been taken to mature this relationship and how did or could it have affected the initiatives outcome?
