1. Have a clear, arguable thesis that displays critical thinking.
2. Support all assertions with relevant evidence from the text, using at least 2 quotations from the literary text
3. Have an introduction with a clear, arguable thesis, body paragraphs with evidence and discussion of its relevance, and a concluding paragraph.
4. Consider your choice of organizational strategy and convey it through topic sentences (sub-claims).
5. Provide careful parenthetical citation and a Works Cited page for all sources, using MLA style (8th edition, 2016).
