HOSPICE
Knowing you are studying and taking courses in health services administration, during a family get together you were approached by one of your aunts who provided you with an update on the medical condition of your uncle. You did realize he was deteriorating but unaware it was terminal with a poor prognosis. Not only did your aunt provide you with this grim status report she asked your opinion about referring your uncle to a hospice unit within the hospital.
In no more than one (1) page, double-spaced, explain to your aunt the concept of hospice care, its mission and goals, and its overall advantages. Your goal is to educate your aunt about hospice and providing her with comfort that this is the best move for your uncle.
