You will give a tribute speech to a person, event, cause, or event. The focus on this speech will be effective delivery, language and content. Though your speech will be a manuscript style of delivery, your goal is to combine your voice and body effectively while demonstrating your ability to use language that will paint a vivid picture of the person, object, event, or institution to which you are paying tribute. And, it is extremely important you are culturally sensitive to your audience members about your topic in any category. Your speech delivery must be 4-5 minutes.
All applicants go through a series of tests that check their level of English and knowledge of formatting styles. The applicant is also required to present a sample of writing to the Evaluation Department. If you wish to find out more about the procedure, check out the whole process.
