Scan the Joseph story in Genesis 37-50.
Identify and research 1 aspect of Josephs life that can be understood better in light of what we know about ancient Egyptian culture. Stay away from older sources as many older books use antiquated data from Egypt and do not use recent discoveries about ancient Egypt.
Write a paper on 1 aspect of Josephs life as illuminated by an understanding of ancient Egyptian culture. Identify what is known about ancient Egyptian practices or customs and how an understanding of ancient culture helps the reader to better grasp the meaning of the narrative (incident) in Josephs life.
Some ideas to consider might be:

Slavery and slave prices
Josephs position under Pharaoh
Famines of the Nile
Josephs dress/clothing
Dreams and dream interpretations
