Practicum alternative include, but are not limited to (many of these categories may
overlap):
The instruments history and evolution
The instruments country of origin, if known, and any traditional or cultural
associations
Typical ensembles employing this instrument (band, orchestra, brass quintet, etc.)
Typical construction and materials used
Method of sound production (use of a bow, wind, struck with a mallet, etc.)
Practice strategies, and any personal experience in studying this instrument, if
applicable
