Final Project for Music and World Cultures
Write a term research paper on a music culture not discussed in the class.
Email me by the deadline to approve of your topic. Once approved, research the music and the
culture.
For your final project, the following must be included in your paper:
1. Six page, double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman, 1 inch margins, paper.
2. Include: 1. Geographical information, 2. History of the culture,3. At least three listening
examples of its music, and any important details (ex. All music was coupled with a
dance, or all music was ceremonial) about each song, 4. Describe what instruments are
used in that culture, 5. Who would sing, and 6. The form of each of the examples.
3. I would recommend finding primary sources online, including youtube videos.
Important! Do not copy/paste any portion of your paper
from the Internet. This is considered plagiarism, and
you will receive a 0, and be reported as a violation of
the Student Code of Conduct.
