Research to find a writer or artist who is working today.  Your choice must be contemporary.  The key element of your selection is to propose someone who seems to be either directly or indirectly influenced by the Beat Generation Writers.  You can find a direct influence, such as a singer who has stated she was influenced by the Beats.  On the other hand, you might find an artist who has not publicly stated that he or she was influenced by the Beats, but you can see a clear influence there nevertheless.
