Aim to write an analytical piece. This means you need to fulfill three tasks:
identify and describe issues in the country of your selection, explain their causes,
and analyze how their governments and political institutions have affected, or
complicated the issues. An A+ paper should consist of all three components.
o DO NOT only rely on the textbook as your reference on the issue, which is
insufficient for any analytical piece. It is important that you do external research
on the relevant current events in order to accurately explain the issues and their
political causes.
o Make a clear argument of the causes and controversies of the issue (a good
writing often accomplishes this in the first paragraph if not sentence). To do so,
articulate your own observation of the subject based on factual evidence
analysis is the key.
