You will select and analyze one local (district or school-level) policy issue that you believe needs to be changed, added, or deleted from the official board policy. Describe the policy issue and its implications on the school setting. Use resources such as student handbooks, school and district websites, school board policy manual, or interviews with school/district personnel. You must then develop a PowerPoint presentation as if you were going to present the issue at a local school board meeting. Include the following in your presentation:
Why is this new policy or change of policy needed?
What effect can the policy have on the school(s)?
How are other schools/districts addressing this issue?
What are the potential effects of the policy being implemented, not implemented, or changed?
Your presentation must contain at least 5 references in current APA format, with all references listed on the last slide. A title slide must be included. Provide a clear, coherent introduction for your presentation. Your presentation should be arranged and laid out in a manner that clearly conveys your message. Your main points should have a clear, logical flow, and be both informative and persuasive.
