Write a two-page essay on fiction craft in James Baldwins Sonnys Blues.

This essay should have a specific focus on Baldwins use of dialogue in building characters. Show specific examples of dialogue (one or two sentence examples) and how they allow the reader to know a character (or characters). The aim is to explain how dialogue works in making the story more effective.

This is why we study craft. For this assignment, we look at dialogue as doing the heavy lifting in Sonnys Blues.

This essay should be properly formatted to MLA conventions: double-spaced, Times New Roman font (12 pt), and a proper Works Cited page for the primary source, Baldwins story.
