Section I: Explain the primary source document, 20 points

Who is the author? What is his role/position? What do we know about the author that can help us understand why this document is important?
To whom are they writing? Who is their intended audience?
What is the authors purpose in writing/creating/producing this document, at the time the document was written?
What is his overall message in this document (Content of the document)?
How is the author making his point?
What’s the genre (a letter, a speech, government document, proclamation, diary, etc.)
What are the techniques they use to convince their reader (persuasive, emotional or objective, scientific language, etc.)?
Is the author persuasive?
Section II: Historical Context, 20 points

Explain how the document fits into the aspects of Mexican history discussed in this weeks materials.  The information about context will come from the module.
Think of the historical context as the Big Picture.
What is happening in this time and place: Mexican Revolution, early 20th century
How does the document fit into this specific time and place?
Consider what you learned about the Mexican Revolution, when the document was written.
What does the document tell us to help us further understand the Mexican Revolution and the author’s role or experiences in the Mexican Revolution?
In this section, you must discuss specific examples of what you learned about the Mexican Revolution that pertain to the document you have chosen.
