: Do some research into the social, cultural, or historical elements within the story or poem, and try to identify the context that helped inspire the author to write this particular piece. How does this context influence or dictate the themes in the work? Use specific examples from at least two sources, and connect them with passages from the poem/story. The development, use, and implications of the rest cure on women during the time period and its relevance to the narrator’s experience. Every topic should include at least one example from the text and/or from your outside sources (as a quotation, summary, or paraphrased passage).
